The factories allegedly employ child labor and regularly abuse International Labor Organization standards of conduct. In August of 2005, Scholars and Students Against Corporate Misbehavior (SACOM), human rights and women’s movement leaders, and other activists convened in Hong Kong to confront Disney and ask for full disclosure of the factories that the company uses to source its products.
